 FAQs

  • I’ve found that the body is generally more responsive to a less aggressive approach, and that going ham on your hamstrings is likely to send your nervous system (and muscles) into protective mode rather than encourage them to release. I love to use neuromuscular techniques, stretch, trigger point work, and other modalities to address issues in a therapeutic way rather than trying to beat them into submission. It’s kinder to your body, kinder to mine, and helps you get that calm, balanced, post-massage chill that we all need more of! So if you’re looking for more intense pressure all around, I might not be the therapist for you.

If you like deeper work, give Cupping Massage a try! Cupping Massage can access tissue up to 4” deep from the surface of the skin, and is highly effective for those chronically “stuck” areas in the body.

  • I have chosen to focus on and have taken continuing education courses specific to women’s wellness and the role of massage in women’s wellness at various stages of life. My services are open to anyone who is currently experiencing or who will experience menopause transition, or who identifies as a woman. Nonbinary and trans clients are welcome here!

  • I use natural massage butters from Rebel Massage (a woman-owned small business), crafted in small batches from shea butter, mango oil, and essential oils. They have an amazing texture, smell incredible, and there are no yucky chemicals or fake fragrances added. Good for women, good for the planet, good for you!

I also have jojoba oil as an unscented, hypoallergenic option. Cupping Massage uses organic fractionated coconut oil, as it has the best viscosity for the cups to glide over the skin.

The oil I use for the Ayurvedic Scalp Massage add on and for the scalp massage in Rooted & Wise Menopause Massage is a blend of sesame, coconut, and sunflower oils plus essential oils.

  • Services are gratuity free, so the price you see is the price you pay. This makes it easier for you to budget for massage as part of your wellness care and gets rid of all that “how much should I tip?” anxiety when you’re supposed to be nice and relaxed after your session.

I’m a one-woman operation, and I price my services in a way that feels fair and adequate for me without additional gratuities. That being said, PLEASE TIP when you see a massage therapist at a spa or other multi-therapist space - they rely on tips as part of their income.

  • I hope so, because I’d love to help! I offer a limited number of sliding scale/barter appointments each month to make massage care more accessible. Please reach out so we can chat more about your needs.

  • I don’t use social media personally, and choose to carry that into my business as well. I deleted my personal Facebook in 2016 and then Instagram in 2020. I found that posting and liking and commenting had started to replace actual communication in my life, and it all just felt like too much noise.

I am grateful for all of my amazing clients and if you enjoy your service I hope you’ll tell a friend - preferably via the “old-fashioned” way of your choosing (bonus points if you have a carrier pigeon). And if you don’t enjoy your service, I hope you’ll tell me so I can try to make it right!
